Hi Peter.
Dave Allan will be sadly missed by people of my age who are still coming to
terms with the loss of others such as Dez Lawson, Tommy Cooper, Benny Hill,
Kenny Everett, Spike Milligan, Ronny Baker and many many more. When I look
around to see who is coming behind them, I am saddened to see that there is
no significant replacements. Jasper Carrot and Billy Connelly are funny but
they, in my opinion, don't come near to the mark. Stand-up-comics of Dave
Allen's calibre are just not there. It makes me feel very very old. I just
don't find current comedians funny.
