for what it's worth, exactly the same has happened to me.
You know that if you right arrow, you'll open up the collapsed thread of emails
on a particular subject. It's quite a good usability feature once you get the
hang of it.
I'd urge you live with it a while before you cancel it. You might find it's
better than the stream of consciousness email trail you are used to.

On my Netbook I have Windows XP and the latest version of JFW. Over the last
couple of days, some of my in-coming messages are saying Collapsed. I don't
know why this has suddenly started to happen.
Any advice would be most welcome.
