it is fine to get rid of. just uninstall it in the usual way.
It is rather a large piece of software and it can slow your machine down a
bit. I would rather not use it but I don't know of an alternative for
backing up contacts and, particularly, for backing up text messages. If
anyone does know I would like to give it a try.
