As you know, I am not Steve, but can answer your questions.

DAISY2Go comes with Talks, but is not automatically
installed on your phone, at least it wasn't installed on
mine.

I copied it from the Talks disc onto the phone.

Having done this, if you go to Applications, Folder
Installations, you should see the programme there.  Select
it and access the menu with Key 1.  You will then 
find an About option which will tell you the version number.

Mine is 2.00.2.

If you have not got a Talks disc you can download the
software from the Nuance website.
