Hi Jackie

thanks for your discription, Fame certainly sounds quite good. I already have the mile stone and its calender so think I will now add fame.

Hi Linda

I've tried it on a jumper of mine which has little sections of pink, purple and cream, and it is very good at detecting a change in colour. I also have two jumpers which are exactly the same, but one is blue and the other a kind
of lavender colour. The colorino is quite good at differentiating these
colours, but the Colortest 2000 is even better, and Fame is spot on. I
realise Fame is an expensive option given you need the Milestone, but if you
have this player, Fame is an excellent addition.

Hi Jackie

have you tried it on anything that has stripes of multiple colours? I have
the cobolt talking colour identifyer which is good enough on plain colours
but really any good on stripes.

Hi Caroline

It works better with patterns or stripes than Colorino does, and all
you do is put the little Fame adaptor on top of the Milestone, where
it plugs into the USB socket. Then you press the play button, and it
tells you the colour and variation. It would be excellent if Woodscan
becomes a reality. This is the barcode reader mentioned on the Bones
website. I suspect it is taking so long to emerge here though because
of the UK product database not being available.

How do you think the Fame colour detector compares with the Colorino,
Jackie? Does the Fame give any more detail?

Thanks,

Caroline.

Hi Martin

I am really impressed with the 312 Pro, and how far it has come since
the days of the 311. I find the voice is very good, and the speaker
is exceptionally clear for something so small. Even the quality of
playing music is much nicer than on other players. Fame is a very
good colour identifier add-on too, and it would be great to see the
barcode reader up and running on it. Martin hops between it and the
BookSense for audio books, but he likes the Milestone for portability and
sound.

Hi.

I am the owner of a milestone list:

milestone-discussion-subscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
make sure you have the latest firmware from

http://www.bones.ch/bones/pages/eng/bones/bones.html

for your device. the latest firmware for the milestone 312 does give
better performance than earlier firmware's when used on the external
speaker.

I must say I am a user of milestone and not paid by them, or
affiliated to them in any other way than I use their products *smile*
Hope to hear from you soon.

From Martin.

Hi folks, does anyone have the subscription address for the Milestone
mailing list please?

Also, I was told when I ordered one that the battery life is about 12
hours
but one site I happened upon suggested only 6 - anyone got any experience
of
this device please?

All the best,
Barry G
