do a bit of internet searching to get the version you want and confirm its
contents. I think that the basic edition contains Word, Excel and Outlook,
the small business edition adds Powerpoint and Premium adds Access but could
be wrong. I am sure that if you look carefully more details will be given
on the site.

This would depend on your primary uses for Office. For example, if you
want to create Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint
Presentations, and possibly manage your personal information with
Outlook, then Basic might be the one you want. However, I've never heard
of SDEM. Hope that helps.
