| Andy, I'd suspect that if, as I'm pretty sure, you are a JFW user,
| then a lot's going to depend on whether their are scripts for Works
| 2007, or whatever its called.
|
| The Word processor is I'm quite sure a cut down version of MS Word,.
| The Spreadsheet certainly in earlier versions of Works was quite
| powerful, and again probably a cut down Excel. the database is really
| a customised spreadsheet, and is a flat file database.
|
| I found Works 2k - yes, going back a long way - good for out of class
| practice with spreadsheet modules.
|
| I think whatever you decide to do with regard to MS Office type apps,
| its going to be something of a steep learning curve to master the new
| ribbon interface. Only glad I don't have to work with these programs
| as yet.
|
| Cheers,
|

| Hi Andy
|
| Mine came with a 30-day trial of Office 2007, but I removed it without
| launching it. I already have Microsoft Office Professional 2003, and
| I
| wasn't going to buy another copy just because it is later.
|
| Microsoft Works 8 is also there, but it wasn't a trial, so I left it
| and
| haven't even been in there to look at it as Office 2003 does what I
| want.
|
| Incidentally, I had no problems installing MS Office Professional 2003
| because I didn't launch 2007 first. Had I done that, it might have
| caused
| problems to go back.
