Yes, and if I'm not mistaken, the books are only free if you're prepared to
listen to really poor quality - the better the quality chosen, the more it
costs - the best they offer is 48 KBS for about 3-4 quid, and they make a
charge if you choose to download the book zipped, instead of in loads of mp3
files!

The books might be free but the membership isn't. It costs $100 to join.
However, you can buy the whole collection on DVD, hard drive or MP3 player,
and selected authors on CD. I'd rather use the RNIB talking books.
