Hi,

Firstly, despite what a lot of phone companies say etc, unlocking phones is totally legal, its just that the high street shops can't do this as they sell the phones/contracts etc. If all else fails, you can get it done professionally either using a service that you send the phone to and they send it back PDQ, or through a market/car boot etc. However, a lot of these can be done yourself, provided you follow the instructions to the letter.

The other thing is that Virgin and Tesco (and perhaps another I can't remember) will unlock the phone free if you pay £30 of credit whilst using the phone.

Thanks.
Andrew.
