Hi Sharon.
The whole point of the Audible app is that it allows you to download and listen
to your audio books without having to first synchronise with ITunes after the
fuss of downloading your books to your PC. When you first launch the app, you
should be asked to log in so enter your user name and password as used on the
Audible site. You’ll then be presented with your library of books. Downloaded
and not downloaded give you complete lists of your audible bookshelf according
to whether those titles are downloaded to your IPhone or not, and audio books,
performances etc. are self explanatory. Go in to your Not Downloaded category
and every book you have purchased will be there ready for you to download.
Make sure your connected to Wi-Fi, then double tap the title of your choice and
it should begin to download. Once a sufficient part of the audio book has
downloaded that it can play (usually a few seconds), the progress indicator
will turn in to a play button and you can start listening. I’ll leave you to
figure out the player screen on your own for now, but give me a shout if you
have any other difficulties. You night also want to have a look at the
settings so you can customise the app to your liking. I’d like to mention just
one thing. For some reason all Audible books played through the app are Mono
only, even when enhanced quality is selected and downloaded. I’ve commented on
this many times both on here and directly to Audible, however as yet they
haven’t done anything to rectify the situation, nor indeed have they even
bothered to recognise the issue, so for the time being, if you want to listen
to books that sound their best in stereo, you’ll need to download and
synchronise your titles using ITunes.
All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] Iphone and Audible
Hi,
First of all, may I apologise for all my enquiries we the Iphone.
I now would like to be able to play audible books on my Iphone. I was advised
by a friend to get the audible app, which I have now downloaded to the phone,
but am unsure as to where to go now.
Do I need to download my audible books again, or can I put them over from my
pc, where they are already downloaded.
Also how do I then make these books play, and then continue where I left off
the next time I play the book.
Any other help with using audible and the Iphone would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Sharon
