Try quitting your screen reader temporarily whilst you get past the first 
stage. Jaws and 
Hal certainly can interfere - not sure about Window-eyes.  If you are using an 
XP 
system you can use Narrator of course.

Incidentally 1.4 is the latest version, not 1.3.
