Hello Alexander,

I see your uncertainty. However, you should have simply been able to delete any of them and use the remaining one instead. If you accidentally delete a shortcut you subsequently realize you did not want to delete, you will be able to recover it from your Recycle Bin if you haven't emptied this; alternatively, you can just create another shortcut yourself from scratch.

BFN,
John.

Hi John,

Thank you for your message.

However, I have already solved the problem, as I asked on another list yesterday, and received a very helpful phone call from a friend.

The problem with deleting the shortcuts concerned, was that they were identical to others on my desktop, i.e, I had two "my Documents" icons and two "my computer" icons on my desktop, and I did not want to delete the wrong ones.
As I say, the problem is now solved.
