Hi John The screen is now working, I uninstalled the drivers, the screen wasn't working no matter what we did this end, I then had problems with screen readers because of the video interceptors so I did a system restore, it fixed it, the problems we have with computers, one little file can cause so many big problems. Ok thanks. This is an easy thing to do on small netbooks and, indeed, any laptop. It is a key combination which requires holding down the FN (function) key and pressing another key to change certain settings. As the Alt F4 key is normally used to close a programme or shut down a window, this can easily be mixed up with the FN and F4 key combination which turns your screen off. Try holding down the FN key (this is normally located to the right of the Control key on the left of the spacebar) keys along the bottom from the left should be Control key, Function key, Windows key, Alt key, Spacebar etc. So, as I say, hold down the FN key and then press F4. If this is indeed your problem then your screen should burst into life. Hope this solves your problem. Cheers. John. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Adrien Collins Sent: 29 March 2012 13:44 To: 'access uk' Subject: [access-uk] Help with netbook problems Hi I am having serious problems with my netbook this week, it keeps crashing. I have had nothing but problems with it. Anyway, I am having problems with the display, it turns on ok, I can see it light up when windows is booting up but mum tells me the screen is black once windows has loaded. I phoned samsung, they ran me through some checks but with the room being very light, I was unable to see the screen clearly enough because I can only see light and dark. I uninstalled the mobile pc drivers, rebooted the pc and windows put the drivers back in again, it looked very bright but I'm not too sure. Is there a tool for fixing and checking hardware issues on pc's? I had to run system restore because having reinstalled the drivers, it upset the screen readers. What is the best way around this, I can't get sighted help because if the screen is black they can't see anything. I'm sure it is just software causing the problems other wise the screen wouldn't light up when I boot into windows.
