Hi

Worth noting if your signed in with a google account, One can use the classic
Google homepage which only contains a few links and no troublesome features.

I cannot answer that, the Google search page I have up is pretty clean it does
have the screen reader user link and the landmark for search but the only two
buttons I have are the "google search" and "I'm feeling lucky". I don't have a
location either, I'm signed in because I have a Google account but tried signed
out without any extra stuff being revealed. My guess would be the location it
detects is derived from your details in the Google account settings which can
obviously go in and change there.

Regards.

Thank you for explanation Tristram. Now another question. Just below a link
following a search my Screen Reader, says button. Again this is new. It looks
like an icon. What is this for? I am also disappointed that at the end of the
screen there is a lot more clutter and one silly thing about my location which
is wrong. I attempted to change this but did not succeed in keeping the changed
location after closing down and re-opening the browser.

Google instant search analyses the keystrokes you type into their edit box and
give you instance results on the basis of your input so as you input text the
search results come up instantly and are updated as you complete the search
string even before you press ENTER. However, this could create disruption for
screen readers which is possibly why they have suggest that it be turned off.

What is this? I was interested to find at the top of my Google Page that there
was a notice for screen readers to turn off Google Instant.
