  Hi.

If the screen has that skip button on it, it is almost certainly the network
name screen. The manufacture Asus has probably already put something in there,
but you can change it without any after affect what so ever. It won't come up
again and you can always go change it in the control panel under network
properties.

Ibrahim - Just 2 things then; Does the network name screen always come up
next, after the licence agreement screen, if for some reason it isn't the
network name screen, and I delete that strange code, and put an understandable
name in that field, can it do any harm? Don't want to bugger this up at the
outset <smile> -

      Hi Andy.

Sounds like that'll be the network name screen. You can name your
netbook so if your using it on a home network IE via wireless, the name you
enter here will be used to identify your machine.

        Hi John -

I've got Narrator running now [I made a mistake and was pressing the FN
key instead of the Win key, got them mixed up in my head for some reason
<smile>]

However, having got past the licence agreement screen, I'm now on a
screen the has an edit box with some kind of code in it beginning U:something
or other, the characters of which I can't hear very well. There is a skip and
next button on this screen; Does anybody know what this screen is, and if I
need to make a note of the code that is there, Narrator isn't saying if this is
a username screen or anything, not sure how important this particular screen
is!-

            Hi all -

I've just received my Asus netbook, have powered it on, and
listened to about 5 minutes of rather dull music! When it stopped, I tried to
access Narrator using Windows U, but nothing happened, so I then pressed alt N,
and nothing happened. I have tried Windows U then tabbed and hit alt n,
followed bhy space in case as in Vista, there is a button to activate, but
still, nothing. I removed the battery and started again, and got that long
music track after powering on again.

Anybody get me moved on, so I can get Narrator to talk to me? -

            Andy
