Hi Justin, "Google Desktop" is essentially to your PC, what Google is to the Internet. A search engine. BUT, it uses search technology that Microsoft would (as I understand it from a Microsoft employee) give their right arm for. Let's suppose I want to look through my entire mail for messages that contain the word "Kurzweil". This would take ages with Outlook's own search feature. With Google Desktop, it would take seconds. And if you use Google to search the Internet for someothing, it will also tell you if it finds any references to what you are searching for on your PC. A powerful tool indeed - and free! I've heard of it but, have no idea what its use is supposed to be. thanx, Justin ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Holmes" <steve.holmes5@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, March 15, 2005 6:23 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: GOOGLE FOR DESKTOP > Where can I get Google for desktop? > > Steve > > ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- > ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] > ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: > ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > ** and in the Subject line type > ** unsubscribe > ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the > ** immediately-following link:- > ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] > ** or send a message, to > ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq > ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq This Message has been scanned for viruses by McAfee Groupshield. ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
