Got the Linksys to work.

The bloke in BT gave me the wrong dns stuff. So I booted intot he voyager
and grab the info from it's advanced stats.

We mightened get a full 5mb, I understand cause of exchanges, overheads etc,
but 30kbp/s when getting 900kbp/s the night before? lol!

Hi DJ:

If you remove the filter from the wall your dsl won't work at all. That
filter cuts all the rubbish out of the signal coming down the phone line
enabling internet and voice to work together. Re the speed thing, they only
say up to a maximum of five mb for example. It's a real pest this ADSL
thing. Sorry I couldn't be of any further help.-----Original Message-----

Hi all.
I've checked out the diognostics and everythign appears ok witht he router.
However I've noticed the seed being transmitted is not what we shoudl =
have.=20
It's only coming through at 448kb/s. think we're meant to be on 4 or=20
5mbp/s.

Http requests are still sitting at abot 30kbp/s, and I've been advised =
bya=20
friend to remove the filter box from the wall socket where the =
router/modem=20
is plugging into.

Is this right? he's from Canada and mmaybe their's is different?

I can't understand this, restarted and rebooted the modem, rebooted=20
machines, flushed dns and nothing...

Any clues?  grins
