Hi I installed this DigiTV (PCI version) a couple of days ago. I was very impressed with the ease of installation and setup. I use JFW 5.1 and everything was accessible. I was most impressed with being able to access the EPG and, although it wasn't quite as straight forward as described in the manual, it was not so difficult to use this. This EPG 7 day listing is one of the interfaces to the record facility. I was able to set up timer recordings. The main thing I have found fault with is that so far I have not been able to get it to record the audio description of the selected programme although I have ticked the box that says record audio description in the settings. The other thing that seems not to be so easy to access is the information displayed about the current program and also the teletext is not so easy to make use of. I have been able to find some of this with the Jaws cursor but it isn't that interesting anyway. One of the features the DigiTV boasts about is being able to pause a live TV programme, for instance when somebody rings the door bell. When in pause the hard disk is used to store the programme temporarily so that you can resume it as you wish, dependent only on your disk drive capacity. This feature, however, does nhot appear to work for the radio channels. I have been using the Net gem for a year now. In comparison the DigiTV gives you better acces and control of the interface. The obvious disadvantage is that you have to have a PC switched on and using a good deal of its resources to process all of this. It is possible to use both and they both claim that they have a loop through aerial so that you can daisy chainmore than one receiver off of an aerial feed. I found this only worked when feeding the main aerial into the Netgem and then connecting the aerial out of the Netgem to the Nebula DigiTV card on the PC The other big plus about the Nebula DigiTV for me is its compactness. That is why I chose the PCI model ahead of the USB one. It is fully contained within my PC and adds no additional cabling, apart from the aerial, to my over clusterreed desktop/fllor. The DigiTV also comes with a remote handset which I have notyet investigated. The documentation says this is a "one4all" handset and you can set it up to work with other home entertainment units. They were the first to bring audio description to market at all, but the tuners are computer peripherals. They do a USB Freeview box and a PCI card for the computer, both of which support Audio Description. HATH All the best -- Computer Room Services: the long cane for blind computer users. For example, if I buy a Thompson or Humax model will I still be able to pick up audio description?
