They're just standard ASCII commands aren't they, and not specific to
any one application let alone OS? I remember using them back in DOS with
Word Perfect 5.1.

Hi,
I am able to do this fine in Outlook using the standarddefault options -
= turn numlock on, and do alt+numbers to get the character. For
example, = the Caff=E9 with the accented E.
