I had something similar once. I had touched one of the touch buttons on the front of the monitor. Could your problem be something similar?

Hello All, My Partner borrowed my computer monitor as his had broken. When he got his new one, he reinstalled mine, but it won't pick up a signal from my desktop. The monitor is working, as it lights up and a message comes up saying no signal, but it is obviously not receiving a signal from my computer. Any ideas please?
