Hi Chris

This was totally expected and I knew it was going to happen. Microsoft
announced sometime ago that they would be discontinuing the api and as GW
connect is based around it, it would no longer work when the kit stopped
working. The only reason they kept it around for long as they did was because
developers ask them to and to give developers time to choose alternative ways
of communicating with Skype. You do not need specialist plug-ins to make Skype
work accessibly, in fact both Freedom scientific and GW Micro both have
excellent Skype supports built into their products. There was never a need for
GW connect in my opinion, but I know some people use it.
