Catherine, I would use NVDA portable version on a USB stick which you can download from the www.nvda-project.org/ site. Follow the download links. Jaws and others have to insert a "off-screen module"into the other person's computer which I don't like. NVDA does not use this method of intercepting the screen information and therefore is not quite as powerful as Jaws, but it is still adequate for most ordinary use. Removing this module is messy. I'm vaguely aware of System Access To Go and have also heard of Thunder and Non Visual Desktop Access. I believe these are all free and easy to run. Can anyone give me any opinions on which is the easiest to get running or best for accessing websites? For SA2Go does it just require an internet connection? Do the others run on USB sticks? Any other info about getting started with any of these would be gratefully received.
