Thanks Malcolm. I had been wondering whether that would be worth
attempting. However I have a recollection of reading, some time ago, a
message suggesting that this Convert utility was not the most reliable
feature of Windows XP. Although I maintain regular backups of everything
on the other partitions i do not have one of c: apart of course from
Documents and Settings. I think that for safety I ought to get a small
external HD on which to make an image before using Convert.
