Hi,

Some functions of the Kindle work assuming you by the one with the keyboard.
You can read a book from start to finish if it has text to speech enabled,
including starting, stopping and resuming playback. You can also organise
your collection and navigate the device's menu.

However, you can't buy books from the device or navigate through the text,
so it's probably better for novels than for textbooks. You also can't do
much with the notes or bookmarks functionality.

If you want greater ability to navigate, you should consider Kindle for PC.
