Hi Jeff

My husband has just bought the Victor Reader Stratus 12M from Humanware.

It plays CDs and you can use an SD card and a memory pen. He tried the PTX1 
and, as it did not work properly, sent it back. He has only had the Stratus for 
a few weeks but is very pleased with it.

The voices are Ryan and Heather, who are both american.
