Hi Ian,

So long as the BBC software doesn't do any processing on it, otherwise it
wouldn't be very scientific <Smile>.

All the best

Subject: [access-uk] DS 50 AGAIN

Following discussion on this list, and as someone who has know experience of
digital voice recorders, I'm currently checking out the Olympus DS50 with a
view to possibly reviewing it on In touch. My initial impression is that
I'm on the side of those people like Sandra and Andy who said they really
liked it. While the talking menus and functions aren't comprehensive it's
certainly preferable to something that doesn't have any such feature. And
the sound quality seems more than adequate to these old ears. I might even
sneakily try recording something like a head-to-head interview on it for
broadcast, load it into the BBC's editing package, slip it into the show and
see if anyone on the technical side notices or complains. Bet they won't.
Certainly no worse than either of my minidisk recorders used with a dynamic
mike.
