Hi Jeff,

I'm inclined to suggest you take a look at http://www.bcab.org.uk, but they do
quote a telephone number on their web page - 0845 643 9811.

B.C.A.B. is the British Computer Association of the Blind, and are very helpful
in these situations.

George

I suppose it breaks down into three areas:
Firstly, I own
but have never found out how to use it successfully.
Secondly, I find much of the terminology surrounding the internet and
computing in general confusing.
I have both a Braille sense on hand and a victor reader stream and both of
them when I am away from home can prove problematic when going on line.
The help manuals advise importing this or that, but I don't know what they are
talking about.
Thirdly, Jaws and WindowEyes are fine, but I am often wrecked when my computer
reboots and a visual message appears demanding a prompt, but I have know idea
it is there.
How Jaws and WindowEyes have the nerve to say that "they make computers
accessible" I don't know.

Really what I think I need, god I can't be alone, is say a couple of
weekend courses which are then backed up by a volunteer.
I understand why trainers have to charge so much for a days training but I
honestly don't know how people can afford it, I can't.
Perhaps this sounds like a disgruntled blind man, but I have had more help
from this list than anywhere else since my sight went.
On a final point does anybody know who the local voluntary group for the blind
is in London C4?
Jeff
