Dear all,

We invite you to participate in our study of Sighted and Visually impaired
people performing joint web searches. Our study aims to identify the
challenges faced when visually impaired and sighted users search the web
together for some joint purpose. Ultimately we aim to understand better how
to design technology to support team-based web searches and to contribute
towards the integration of visually impaired people in the workplace. We
would be grateful if you can take part in this study, which consist of one
session of three to four hours long, all participants will be paid at the
rate of 7 pounds per hour, and all travel costs will be covered.

Skills required:

We are seeking JAWS screen-reader users, with experience in using Internet
Explorer, Google (or any commonly used windows-based web browser).

Bring a friend:

Because the study is about joint searching, if you have a friend or family
member who is familiar with searching the web and is generally comfortable
with technology, you could bring them along as your partner in the joint
session, they will be paid at the same rate as yourself.

The setting:

The visually impaired participant will be using a PC keyboard, JAWS screen
reader on Windows 7 and Internet Explorer version 11. The sighted
participant will be using a Windows 8 laptop with Internet Explorer.

Location:

The sessions usually take place at Queen Mary, University of London, which
is just East of the City, but we are happy to travel to your home or
workplace if it is in the Greater London area.

Thank you very much for your assistance to perform this study. If this is
of interest to you, please reply, saying where you would prefer to perform
the study, some dates you are available, and whether you wish to provide
your own partner. Please email dena.althani@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Best wishes,
