Ah! I hadn't thought of using Winamp as I haven't ripped a CD with it but that will probably work.

I'll try it after the weekend.

Carol,

If Windows media Player is using a DB that has a match
Winamp will most likely as well.

Pop the cd in, get winamp to play it, winamp will grab
the same info as Windows media.

In CD EX under remote DB there's a tick box to use
Winamps library.

Write back if you need more specifics.

Barry

Yes, I have two servers listed also but neither can find
this CD, but it's recognised if I put the CD into Windows
Media Player, but then the thing won't copy, probably
because I don't really know waht I'm doing with it and
don't really care to use it.

I don't know the addresses of any other servers to try.

Hi Carol

I don't know what your knowledge of C DEX is like but try
this
Go to the options menu - settings then remote TAB
There is a combo box with the available servers, mine has
two listed. Currently mine is set to freedb.freedb.org

Tab down and make sure you enter a valid email address
check the box to auto connect to remote CDDB server

Tab to ok then put in a CD and see if it works.

Hope that helps.

Darren.

Hi all,

I would like to use the database Windows Media uses when
finding CD's in order to rip them using CDEX, but I
can't find anywhere which database this is and what I
have to put into CDEX.
Can any of you clever people help me out, please?

Thanks!
