Having read the article, I take your point. However, a streamed track does not show as a downloaded track so there must be some kind of difference between what happens when a track is "streamed" as opposed to actually downloaded. There seems to be some kind of cache. However, unlike with the Amazon Music player, there seems to be no way of altering the cache size. I am sure that even with such services as Amazon Music and Spotify, there is some kind of downloading going on when you think you are actually streaming. Looking at Usage in Settings would seem to indicate that this is so. You do not need to download tracks from iTunes Match to play them. It is treu that you can on occasion get some strange matches where the track title is completely different from the track playing or downloaded. This can happen only I suspect where the track has not been purchased from iTunes. Having said all of that, I'm sure I have read that you can't stream iTunes music in the cloud on a portable device without downloading first to the device. This is what gives the Amazon Music app an advantage as you can stream from the Amazon cloud as well as playing from the device including being able to play music in your iTunes library. -----Original Message----- From: Iain Lackie Sent: Friday, August 29, 2014 9:09 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [Bulk] [access-uk] Re: [Bulk] Itunes etc. This is completely incorrect. If you have tracks which are greyed, It means they have not yet been uploaded and so cannot be played or downloaded. If you have a lot of tracks to be matched, you have to allow sufficient time for your library to be matched. You may have to go into iTunes and update iTunes Match so that the match process can be completed. Iain On 29 Aug 2014, at 08:28 pm, "Kevin Lloyd" <kevin.lloyd3@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Hi BJ. I have Itunes on my laptop, I have "Match" and "Home sharing" enabled. Like magic I can see all my music on both my Apple TV and my Iphone. However, only the music I downloaded from Itunes plays, the rest of it (the vast majority) is greyed out and won't play. Any advice welcome!
