I wasn't trying to say this model had a 160 SSD drive. I thought you were saying netbooks with 160GB hard drives of any sort didn't exist. Sorry!

Hi.No, its not a solid state drive or SSD drive as it is abbreviated to, its just a standard 160GB hard drive like in the Samsung. I'm told that the battery life on the Samsung is better, you can get around 6.5 hours with normal use as it has a 9 cell battery rather than the 6 or 3 cell models some netbooks use. I also think the Samsung is lighter at just 1.2Kg, but otherwise, the specs are almost identical.----- Original Message ----- From: <mailto:wilcoxdean@xxxxxxxxxxx>Dean Wilcox To: <mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, January 03, 2009 3:22 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Asus compared to SamsungYes it is real, just hard to believe I know! No netbook would have a 160GB solid state drive, if you had any idea how much they cost then you'd shudder LOL. As for the model with the 6GB drive, I simply wouldn't recommend it if you need a machine that will allow you to work, play and also browse the internet, read email etc. My basic installation alone is 12GB, office, virus scanner and so on.----- Original Message ----- From: <mailto:wilcoxdean@xxxxxxxxxxx>Dean Wilcox To: <mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, January 03, 2009 2:58 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Asus compared to SamsungDon't most netbooks have both WIFI and Bluetooth? All the Asus ones seem to. Also, if you go for something like the Asus 904 or the Asus 1000 they have solid state SD drives in them, 160GB I think. At 14:53 03/01/2009, you wrote:HI Andy.Looking through the recently posted list email from James, I saw your request for info about the Samsung netbook which I own. Firstly, the Asus although cheaper and with an internal solid state drive might be smaller, the Samsung is more like a smaller laptop. It has a 160GB hard drive, suitable for storing larger amounts of files and making it more feasible for multimedia applications like cd burning, playing games and dvd watching etc. It also features Bluetooth and wireless, the only netbook in the range at the moment to have both technologies. Other than this, it has a card reader, 3 USB ports, high quality sound and also comes with a firewire port and VGA connection should you want to connect the netbook to a TV or external monitor which could be useful if your partially sighted what with the screen only being 10 inches.I hope this helps you and feel free to email off list at <mailto:ibrahim_gucukoglu@xxxxxxxx>ibrahim_gucukoglu@xxxxxxxx if you feel you need further details. No virus found in this incoming message.
