Alexander, thanks for the suggestions. What I've ended up doing is forwarding a link to the Twitpic letter to my sister so as she can read it out to me over the phone the next time we speak. Hardly a satisfactory solution, but it gets the job done! I'm just asking as I have thought of a possible solution to your problem, but it would only work if the info was public, and your screen-reader can assist you in knowing where the photo is in relation to any other text. If you can isolate the photo and either copy it in to K1000, if you have it, or you're able to send it to me off list, I might be able to use my limited sight in combination with Abbyy fine reader 10 to strip the text out of the photo, or maybe you could do this yourself if you have fine reader or k1000 and you are able to get sighted help for long enough to copy and paste the photo.
