Hello,

Two apps which are mentioned on the Eyes-free e-mail list are:
Androcr
and
abbyy Textgrabber

Androcr is free, and Abbyy Textgrabber cost £3.32 last time I looked.

Some users from the Eyes-free list have been successful in using these, but others, including me, have not! Abbyy did not seem to pick up any text at all, and Androcr gave me a lot of rubbish! Admittedly, I have not tried hard enough since my first attempts and could certainly do with sighted help to judge distance and angle of phone, etc.

Good luck!

Cheers,

Christopher

Hi group

I've heard in the past that there's an app, well there's probably lots, that can read out a document etc using the camera. I've looked on the playstore but there's oodles of them, some say they convert to pdf, lots of bar code readers (which I don't want), but I can't find one that will read out what has been scanned. . Just wondered if anyone can reccomend one or two for me to try out.

Thanks
Martin
