Hi George. I was able to follow your directions up to the point where you mention "Service Status", this I couldn't find. After selecting "Manual", a couple of tabs across took me to the "Apply" button, but no sign of "Service status" in between. Any ideas? Double click on it, which will being up the | Properties dialog for the Office Source Engine. There are | four tabs, of which "General" should be the default. | | Go down to the "Startup type;" listbox, and select "Manual". | | (Below that is "Service status:" which hopefully says | "Started".) | | Tab down to the Apply button and click on it. | | Close all windows and try the Office Update again. | | George. | | -----Original Message----- | From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx | [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Darran Ross | Sent: 15 July 2006 15:30 | To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx | Subject: [access-uk] Re: Advice for Using the Command Prompt | | Hi George. | | Below is the resolution recommended for my set-up, namely | Office 2003 with Windows XP. | | All the relevant info should be there. | | Any advice, as ever, gratefully received. | | Darran | | Microsoft Update | | Office 2003 Update fails to install with error 0x80070643 | | Last updated : 10/21/2005 | | Print | | Close | | Problem description | You receive error 0x80070643 when you are installing Office | 2003 Updates. | Updates fail to install because ose service is disabled or | cannot be started. | Applicable Office versions: Office 2003 | | Applicable operating systems and products | | Windows 2000 | Windows XP | Windows Server 2003 | | Resolutions | | 1.
