Thank you Steve. New versions of vTurbo and vMouse will be getting released as soon as the official version of NVDA 2013.1 is finally itself released.

On a different topic, do you have the AfterShokz headphones? If so, could you contact me off-list to give me your thoughts. I have just received a replacement pair from the UK company and would like to compare notes with audiophile users who know what phase is.

Paul

Fantastic Steve, thanks.

I'll have to set aside some time for investigating the world of
accessible books - I spend too much time coding!

Hi Paul,

Even better value is Balabolka:-

The price tag is great, it's free. It will also convert un-DRMed Epub to
audio formats that the others don't support like WMA and many others.

All the best

I think the main problem here is DRM in the source. That might stop any
TTS app from creating an audio file. However, if you have access to
Kurzweil 1000 version 13, I believe it supports epub and it certainly is
able to make mp3 or wave files from the documents it loads.

Also, have a look at Nextup.com. Their recently launched TextAloud app
for IOS supports non-DRM epub format and their desktop version for PC is
very good at converting most file types (but epub not mentioned) into
audio. At just under $30, TextAloud for the PC is great value.
