Hi,

I believe you only get what you pay for.

On a test machine with Malware Bytes and Microsoft Security Essentials, not
going out of my way to get a virus/Trojan/worm etc just performing lot's of
everyday computer user tasks, including Torrents I managed to get 7 Trojans
neither product picked up on. Upon installing and running a SMART scan with
Eset Smart Security the 7 Trojans were found and cleaned.

While behaviour of users habits plays a large part I was quite shocked by this
finding. Therefore I recommend you purchase for £27 a year Eset Smart Security,

http://www.eset.com

That's around about what the cost of two pizza's?

I do endorse Malwarebytes as a backup scanner, but Microsoft Security
Essentials has had it as far as I'm concerned.

BTW, this test machine ran for 6 months and behind an enterprise routers
Firewall.

Regards,
Barry.

Hi Niamh.

Unfortunately no antivirus program is perfect, however I'd recommend that you
stick with Security Essentials and complement it with the professional version
of Malware bytes antimalware which provides real-time as well as on demand
scanning. The database of malware signatures is updated constantly and the
program has an excellent track record of removing pesky worms, Trojans and
other nasty's from your system. It is also fully accessible with JAWS which I
guess is an important consideration too. Visit malware bytes website at
www.malwarebytes.org<http://www.malwarebytes.org> to download a copy and trial
the professional version, you wont be disappointed.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi all I fell victim to a horrible worm, something which sounded like MS Anti
Virus Platinum.
My computer was out for days and it took an engineer to remove it and clean up
the computer.
He recommended AVG as my program.
I had been using MS security suit, but it got by that.
Is AVG good and Accessible?
Niamh
