Carol,

I can also report no AD on The Street last night, this was with Sky. I found the same thing on Sunday with the EastEnders omnibus. Sadly its not a new phenomenon and programmes do appear without AD, or for that matter, explanation!

I've just noticed an odd thing tonight as well. Channel 5 are showing a film at 8pm with AD, following this there is another film being broadcast, this time without AD. The odd thing is that the second film has already been broadcast by Channel 5 with audio description! So why isn't there any for tonight's showing? Who knows the whys and wherefores of such things.

Darran

Hi all,

I am interested to learn whether there was any audio description for
you, in your area, using whatever equipment you have, for both
"Coronation Street" and "The Bill" on ITV on Wednesday evening of this
week. We didn't have any and, alas, we have to say that this is the
second time we've found it to be lacking in the last two months, with no
explanation or apology. I am therefore very interested to learn whether
or not you experienced this as well.

In addition, we have some views now about the quality (or sometimes lack
of it) of audio description given by ITV and BBC. Does anyone know who
is now dealing with this at the RNIB, if anyone? If not then we'll have
to take it up with each company individually, unless there's a better
idea from all of you!

I have two final comments. First, we're still very happy with our
DIGITV card from NEBULA Electronics which makes our digital and AD
experience generally good. Also, we'd very much like to strengthen the
view that we'd now like new films to be audio described as a matter of
course, if at all possible. Maybe some of you would like to join us in
this.

Thanks for any suggestions and responses you can give.
