hey everyone! here's a little update from our brother Bert. he's in thailand right now on missions :) keep him in your prayers!
we're done with classes now at the high school. the whole teaching at
the high school is
a miracle in itself, but friday was just plain amazing. since its
monsoon season here in
thailand, theres rain storms out of nowhere. but, on friday, the
rains stopped and we
were able to do some performances in front of the entire student body.
we were able to
present the Gospel to them on a campus thats 98% Buddhist. it was
ridiculous. plus, we
were also able to share the Gospel with our English Corner groups on
Thursday. overall,
our work at the high school this year created a lot of good foundation
to come back next
year. the administrators l
ove us,
and they all want us to come back
next year. and,
this past weekend, we went to the mountain villages in the north, and
we stayed there
over night. i got to see extreme poverty first hand. the kids have
nothing to play
with; some play with dead birds. and, its dirty and no electricity.
but, they're so
hospitable. they let us stay in their homes. we crammed a group of 7
guys into one
little patio/deck thing. it was definitely experience. ill tell you
more later. we
were pretty much the first foreigners they've ever seen. it was
crazy. i've got a lot
of stories. tomorrow, we're helping out with an English camp. pray
for us about that.
and, continue to pray for safety; driving is ridiculous around here.
theres no traffic
laws at all. also, pray for health and all that other jazz.
