Thanks, Spider. I'll give it a try. Take care -- Douglas

Doug,
The only option I'm aware of would be in Windows Explorer or My Computer
going to Tools / Folder options and check the setting on the General =
tab.
One option there is to "single click" to open. Problem is, you say it =
is
sporadic and happening in both OS's, so I doubt this will help much. =
Worth
a look though.

Hi folks, I've had a problem for a while now with my USB mouse and
glidepad on my Inspiron 8600 laptop. Frequently when I left click on
just about anything, the mouse enters a double click. This is a problem
that happens whether or not the two are engaged at the same time. I dual
boot to WinXP and Linux; both of which have the same problem, so I doubt
it's a driver problem (not impossible of course). There is no pattern to
when this problem happens. I'm going to contact Dell, but first I wanted
to see if this might be a simple fix--settings maybe. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Douglas
