Many Loves: A Polyamory Sanctuary
As written by Franklin Veaux on his site, More Than Two: The word polyamory is based on the Greek and Latin for “many loves” (literally, poly many + amor love). A polyamorous person is someone who has or is open to having more than one romantic relationship at a time, with the knowledge and consent of all their partners. A polyamorous relationship is a romantic relationship where the people in the relationship agree that it’s okay for everyone to be open to or have other romantic partners. Polyamory is the idea or practice of being polyamorous or having polyamorous relationships. This group has been born out of a desire to give polyamorous, poly friendly and poly curious individuals a safe community where we can have fun, ask questions, learn and grow. In the case of those who have been polyamorous for years, I want to offer a sanctuary where you can have fun, meet new people and, if the mood takes you, share your experiences and answer questions. Offered here is a group of individuals who have chosen (or who are curious about) a life that flouts what society calls “normal” and “right”. I wish to foster a group free of judgements and scorn, where individuals can make new friends, possibly meet new loves, and always feel they are respected, heard and welcome.
