<USS Eagle> "Haunting Memories"

The nurses gathered around Melody were quite startled as she sat up suddenly.
For some unknown reason she had just fallen. One of the nurses had tried to
call the bridge to get Doctor Ratchet only to find out that she, too, had
mysteriously passed out.
Melody got to her feet and ran from sickbay ignoring all questions. She was
visibly shaken. It was a year ago when the USS Eagle had encountered a ship
floating adrift. It was Melody's first away mission. During the mission Melody
had found a little girl named Casey. At first Melody had thought the child was
a ghost but Melody was able to pick the child up. She comforted the child and
held her in her arms. Melody promised to keep her safe but after the team had
transported over to the Talon Casey dissipated with the ship Melody had found
her on.
Melody was deeply troubled by this event but with the help of the councilor
she had thought it was behind her. Melody reached her room, went inside and
curled up in her bed. Little Casey had pulled her, Gwen and Ratchet to where
ever it was she had been taken. All four of them had not a stitch of clothing
on. She thought it almost ludicrous that Ratchet was worried about Tru or the
Commodore seeing them naked. Sometimes she just felt like slapping Ratchet to
awaken her to the situation. Casey led them down a foul smelling hallway to a
door. She told them that the blue beings huddled in the middle of the room were
new arrivals. Three huge, ugly, scary , red beings were watching over them.
Casey said they were being processed. Some would be forced into slave labor.
They were the lucky ones. Others would be used as food. These nasty red
creatures ate other sentient beings. They didn't seem to care about age or
sex. Gwen asked Casey many questions. Casey knew quite abit about
these
things but not what they were called. These were the beings that had killed
her family. The thing that surprised Melody the most was that four of the
hulking creatures walked right past the four of them and took no notice that
they were watching. Casey explained that she had brought them onto her plane.
Was Casey also gifted with psionic powers and reaching out to them for help or
was she already dead but with a will strong enough to keep herself from passing
on? Melody was scared... not only for Casey but for herself and the crew if
they ever ran afoul of these monsters...
