He currently is professor of at-risk education for Marian College in Fond du Lac, WI. Anthony also directs the National At-Risk Education Network. Please visit the NAREN the website at www.AtRiskEducation.Net NAREN exists to support educational stakeholders in better serving at-risk students. The definition of at-risk is broadened to not only mean at-risk of dropping out of school, but also at-risk of not succeeding in life. Obviously many people who have gotten a diploma have not been well prepared to deal with life, and if education continues to bury its head in the sand with the belief that children are well-served just to have academic content thrust at them then our welfare and prison counts will continue to swell in number. Anthony has just finished publishing "SHADOW CHILDREN ~ Understanding the Nation's #1 Problem" in which we can see both the personal and financial crises being created by our at-risk population, plus some straight out info on how to establish a quality at-risk educational program. Join Anthony to discuss this book and NAREN in the ASO. ---------------------------------------- Saturday, April 17 * Writing for Webheads 9:00-10:00am PDT * Tapped In Tips and Tricks 4:00-5:00pm PDT ---------------------------------------- Sunday, April 18 * Webheads in Action 5:00-7:00am PDT =============================================================== Respectfully submitted, BJ Berquist Associate Educator, TAPPED IN bjb@xxxxxxxxxxxx <http://www.pa.net/mailbox/action.php?action=write&mail_to=bjb@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> http://tappedin.org/tappedin/web/staff/bj.jsp --- Edtech Archives, posting guidelines and other information are at: http://www.h-net.msu.edu/~edweb Please include your name, email address, and school or professional affiliation in each posting. <>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<> EDUCATIONAL CYBERPLAYGROUND http://www.edu-cyberpg.com VENDORS REACH THE EDUCATION MARKET FREE EDUCATION VENDOR DIRECTORY LISTING Find PREMIUM & FEATURED MERCHANT LISTING ALSO http://www.edu-cyberpg.com/Directory/default.asp HOT LIST OF SCHOOLS ONLINE http://www.edu-cyberpg.com/Schools/default.asp SERVICES http://www.edu-cyberpg.com/PS/Home_Products.html Net Happenings,K12 Newsletters, Network Newsletters http://www.edu-cyberpg.com/Community/index.html <>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>~~~~~<>
