Technology Updates
After digging to a depth of 100 meters last year, Russian scientists found
traces of copper wire dating back 1000 years, and came to the conclusion that
their ancestors already had a telephone network one thousand years ago.
So, not to be outdone, in the weeks that followed, American scientists dug 200
metres and headlines in the US papers read: "US scientists have found traces
of 2000 year old optical fibres, and have concluded that their ancestors
already had advanced high-tech digital telephone 1000 years earlier than the
Russians."
One week later, the Malaysian newspapers reported the following:
"After digging as deep as 500 metres in Ha Noi, Vietnamese scientists have
found absolutely nothing. They have concluded that 5000 years ago, their
ancestors
were
already using wireless technology.

Subject: Greetings from Nepal
Dear all friends
We are pleased to inform you that we PWDs has established a local level
orginazation in Surkhet district in January, 2005 called Disable Empowerment
Center
Surkhet.We all young and energetic PWDs gathered and Registered in district
Administrative office surkhet. We also took the affiliation of Social Welfare
Council ( SWC). We have been struggling for the rights and diginity of PWDs. We
have comenced our activity from collecting the data of the PWDs in 15 Villege
Devlopment Commitee out of 50.
This the organization of PWDs and called DPOs. We have developed the good and
cooperative relation with local government and ohter stakeholder. We celerabated
the Disabled day of 2004.We have been working on Right Based Approach.
We would like to request all friends to inform us about the global movemnt of
disability that would help us to work in our field.Pls keep in touch and share
the information. Thank you
