FreeLists has support for serving lists over NNTPS to support readers who prefer that format. You can access any lists currently serving via nntps://news.freelists.org

NNTP isn't enabled by default and turning it on must be requested by the list owner.

1. NNTP comes with a risk to privacy: Unlike the web-based list archives, which have email addresses anonymized to slow down SPAM email harvesters, NNTP doesn't support this. Every poster's email address is in NNTP in the clear.
2. Posts are available for 90 days; the web-based archive is permanent.
3. You can't post via NNTP, that still happens over email.
