Hey guys, this time I’m writing a quick update myself since Henrique is
traveling and will not be available for the next few days. We have received
the physical samples of the initial plastic injected cases for which we have
provided our feedback and the moulds have now been evolved. Whilst the logos
are not present on these samples, you will see that the “Sinclair” and “ZX
Spectrum Next” logos are now present on the updated moulds and we are waiting
on the new case samples for review.
The finished boxes that will house your new prized computers are complete,
produced by Mike Cadwallader and with excellent artwork of Alfredo Tato. The
print on these boxes is super quality with elements of spot UV printing that
really makes things pop.
On the operational side, I returned to the core updates with the help of my
fellow programmers who have given me significant input in terms of
functionality and testing. They have all supported the Next from the very
start and I owe a huge thanks to them. We are busy squashing bugs and adding
some great new features.
In a few days, Henrique will return and give us a complete Kickstarter update
with a video or two of the case and hopefully some pictures of the second
round of injection tests.
