I read your post at: //www.freelists.org/archives/zxspectrum/10-2005/msg00173.html and since I know a bit of italian (got family in Como):

GO TO fd0 would actually work (jump to line) if you have a variable named
fd0. DOS would only work in case of error. However, in that case GO TO fd0
"." would change drive even with fd0 variable in memory.

I do know it's not
so elegant solution, and that's why ESXDOS is in alpha and not even a beta
is released yet. Many things can change between now and first release. Do
you have any suggestions?

Why don't use +D syntax like

CAT d1, SAVE d1, etc.

extended as

CAT did, SAVE did, etc.

where id would be the device id?
