Well after a little wobble (temporarily killed LV2) we're back on track -
sort of. There is now a checkbox in settings->switches that enables the feature
(off by default).
e.g. I had the main instance correctly auto loading instances 1, 2 & 5 and
apply default settings if they existed.
The command line correctly tracks the instances that are set to report to it
(rather than the console) and reads and writes to the one selected - the CLI
can close instances, but not yet open them. However it currently tracks the
instance *position* in the list, not its reported ID, so in the example above,
'5' would be '3' to the CLI.
Hidden CLI instance commands are:
set yoshimi [n]
'yoshimi' must be typed in full
Next step, if it's possible is to allow saving the main default instance to also
save the default state of all other open instances.
Finally, rinse and repeat for any main instance state.

Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
Exchange them and we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.
