And PS. To Will (hopefully the lead developer on this project)
Pardon my awful grammar and misspellings especially in last post to Jonathan,
you might be able to deduce how irritated and insulted I was.
#1 I posted a question with specifics and then its solution with some button
little help but tons more BS, to an unbelievable degree. My Q/A was highly
relevant to yoshimi in a constructive manner, both in regard to the broken ALSA
setting, a layman's solution for average linux end users using a mature
contemporary OS environment and that 99 % of people are going to want to use.
Newsflash 2018, actually 2017 and 2016, Linux is not just for CLI terminal
heads, its for regular people! The dummies here don't get it. Wake up and cut
off your beard.
#2 I just installed more synths testing and no problem btw.
#3 Most importantly and my reason for response. Take a look at some of the
people you have here on your mailing.
For example Jonathan "The Total Dickhead" Brickman, better: Dickman. He
responded after my final two messages marked 'Solved' and then proceeded to put
a blatant (I am sure to amuse himself and his circle jerk buddies who don't
doubt make shit music for quick lube sessions, a very lurid situation I'm sure)
insulting and condescending attack towards me:
"[yoshimi] Re: ALSA and/or JACK hand-holding"
How snide can one get, and all considering. He read through and just decided to
be a Dickman.
You may not like my boldness, I honestly don't either but the responses I
received were that poor and there's a larger problem - some of the people - who
will guarantee stagnant, are counter-productive and are fine wallowing in their
own sad complacency - others be damned. And that is why I did not receive
proper responses from a couple people here - I was reprimanded for daring to
make sense and implying such realistic notions, and then after stepping back,
insulted with an idiot posting "no hand-holding" - PATHETIC.
There was no reason for that, so what comes around goes around, sorry guys I'm
only in for one round, but you keep denying and jerking each others, it's
obvious you love Jack and don't want any common sense and status quo feature
improvement to the G-U-I.
Sad truth is that I was very enthusiastic, and accordingly to your 'Opinions,
please" thread came in here approaching from the novice and average joe angle.
Look at the immediate and follow-up response.
Essentially you have a small group of guys, who don't get it, and no wonder
there has not been much progress on the simple gui functionality front. You
don't get good and valuable feedback, you get lazy smart-asses who want less
than status quo in 2018 for applications, ignoring the problem and refusing to
admit its shortcoming and their own. Oh and who love getting defensive, making
excuses, tell people off for getting upset due to rudeness directed at them,
totally unhelpful, condescending, and then hypocritically, like Jonathan do the
same and provoke even moreso. Proof? Look at the thread ahere by Jonathan -
what an asshole. Plain-and-simple.
It is now understandable why the problem exists - you get no help, good
feedback or advice.
I might have been the guy who potentially when time opened up a bit latter this
year could have tackled the gui and codng issue (that is half done regarding
gui) to make yoshimi much better with real progress. But instead (and you know
it) you have are stuck with gui with an issue that needs some time and effort
by a person with real linux scritping skills as well as practical thinking in
the contemporary world. I know very well, it's an easier fix, you basically
have the form field. Jack works, Alsa doesn't. If these big shots could put
their words into action, then the issue wouldn't exist, would it? No, it would
Well, I can guarantee with a bit of short study and simply 4-5 hours I could
comprehend the situation and when I had time could have probably joined on your
git and helped roll out another version after a month or so time in figuring
our the coding and testing. This is something I would likely be interested in
eventually if not sooner due to the simple opportunity to work on a worthwhile
But instead I am driven away - and note how it was done. Total hypocrisy. Good
job Jonathan. Why don't you do something productive, if you can doubt it.
Anyway I don't know how many people are on the list or involved. I would hope
not 2/3rds of the people who responded today.
I'll remain subbed briefly to field any apologies or to hear if there is in
fact a wider group on this list that Dickman and chum do not reign over.
But sorry, "ALSA and/or JACK hand-holding"
Not cool, think about it from multiple angles? Was it? Counter-productive and
Again pardon spelling I am hunched over a midi controller and not going to
waste much more time here. I assume you can get the point.
