Dear all,
On behalf of the organizing committee of the Fifth Water Security and
Climate Change (WSSC) Conference, we are pleased to invite you to submit
session proposals and abstracts. The conference will take place in Hanoi,
Vietnam on 01-03 March 2021. The WSCC strives to offer a platform for
international exchange, to uncover interdisciplinary linkages and to
release synergies between scientific evidence and both societal and
political decision strategies. We seek to contribute to a significant
social change, following the idea of the *Green Deal* – as currently
discussed in Europe. For example, abstracts that deal with transformation
strategies in the sense of the ecological reconstruction of the economy are
welcome. We kindly invite contributions of creative and practical
approaches with relevance for water security and strategies to cope with
climate change considering technical ecologic, economic, and societal
dimensions.
Session proposals and abstracts can be submitted on a wide range of topics
under the following major themes.
1. *Water and Land for Agriculture and Food *
2. *Water Security and Climate Change Adaptation*
3. *Urban Water Management*
4. *Water Security Hazards and Risks*
5. *Water Knowledge and the Data Revolution*
6. *International Water Management *
7. *Connecting the Dots: Nexus Themes & Transformation Strategies *
Abstracts can be submitted on the WSCC website ( https://watersecurity.info/
) between 25 June and 30 September 2020! *Please note that the session
proposals are accepted until 15 July 2020*. A brief information pack is
also attached to this email. Travel grants can be possible for a limited
number of presenters.
We hope to see you in Hanoi, however, given the current situation of
Covid-19, it is possible that the entire conference will take place in a
virtual format. We are closely monitoring the situation.
