I am writing this reply to you, from a circa-2000 Powerbook pismo, using the
keyboard from the venerable Apple IIfx. (Considered a nice feeling keyboard. I
concur.) I'm using Tiger right now. I guess it depends on what you mean by
trying to make all 3-year old hard /software unusable.
(Keep in mind, for a lot of Mac users, if their system works they are not
likely to change it. Some do, but not in the same percentages as windows user
do, i believe.)
As for philanthropy, even though Henry Ford is supposed to have been Gates
model, a lot of people think he's more similar to John D. Rockefeller with his
monopoly and later years philonthrophy. Either "the ends justifies the means"
or it eases their conscience, take your pick.
I try to limit my participation in the PC vs Mac, my appendage is bigger than
yours contest. I think we can all agree that had it not been for Gary Kildall
and CP/M, QDos would have had nothing to steal and PC/MS-DOS would be quite
different. Without Xerox Parc, Apple and Windows, Next OS, and OS X may not
exist.

Even though you slam Jobs, Apple et all, you use OS X? You're free to do what
you wish, but you DO realize that running OS X on anything but Apple hardware
is a license violation, not unlike giving someone a copy of XY or spreading the
source for Xy around?
